The arrival of Sound Wave ships back to a human colony was met with profound disbelief from anyone with a mote of history. Rumour was that a handful of entertainment vessels were on their way home from the next quadrant, when the captain suggested piggy-backing on a pull going down nearby. This was a profoundly false economy, as this set of stunning cruise ships, equipped with every modern convenience, dining salon and holodeck, failed to arrive home, thereby obliging the captain to feed and entertain the guests until their deaths, and then their children, and their children, and so on. Looking like something out of an early 20th century department store catalogue, Sound Waves were made for entertainment, not speed, agility or battle prowess. The void intelligence improved their fighting ability for the sake of the battles, but the strength of these is in their ability to lift the spirit, and provide laughter and solace for all who travel in them.
